Juniors Summer of Success!

Sawbridgeworth's Juniors have enjoyed a great summer of success in tournaments around the country.

Katherine Whiteaway: Won the U18 Girls Singles Grade 3 event at Leverstock Green

Mollie Crouch: Won the U14 Girls singles Grade 3 event at Frinton & the U14 Girls doubles event at Leverstock Green. She also won a round in the U14 Nationals.

Ellie Gale: Won the U10 Girls Singles Grade 3 events at Framlingham & Frinton and was runner up in the final of the Herts CountyClosed U10 Girls singles and the U14 Girls doubles.

Finn Bass: Was runner up in both the U12 Boys singles titles at Truro and in the Essex Open.

Lowenna Clarke: Was equal 2nd in the Herts County Closed U9 event and also enjoyed great success in Cornwall where she beat all the girls and most of the boys in her Grade 3 U9 events.

Ladies 2nd team recorded an impressive win at Barnet 2's over the weekend. The team of Corinne Gladwin, Sandra Ayers, Gillian Heslop, Janice Cutchey, Janice Hammett and Michelle Cooper fought out a 6-3 win. Agreat start to the new season!

The boys U12 Aegon team notched up a 12-0 win over Rye Park on Saturday. This was the first fixture for the team of: Alfie Nichol, Will Hodge, Edwin Cattermole and Murray Cameron.

The clubs mens teams enjoyed successful openings to their campaign for this season. The Mens 1st team enjoyed a hard fought 8-4 win at Harpenden on the clay courts and the 2nd team enjoyed a 10-2 win at home to Broxbourne 1st team.

Easter competitions!

The clubs juniors enjoyed success over the Easter period. Lowenna Clarke qualified for a National U9 tournament at Nottingham, winning all of her 5 qualifying matches. She went on to win 1 of her 4 main draw matches.

Ellie Gale reached the final of the U10 Grade 3 event at Rickmansworth where she lost 4/2, 4/1 to her county colleague Danielle Latter. She also reached the finals of the Hit 'N' Run tournament at Gosling.

Mollie Crouch Reached the semi's of the Hit 'N' Run U14 tournament at Queenswood. She beat both the number 6 and number 3 seeds en route. She also won the U16 consolation event at the same tournament. Mollie won the U14 Grade 3 consolation event at Cambridge and was runner up in the U16 consolation event.

Ratings success!

Congratulations to Mollie Crouch who has moved to a 7.2 rating and to Finn Bass who has moved to a 8.1 rating.
