Dutch Weekend THANK YOU
We’d like to give a special thanks to Mark Penwill for organising a very successful exchange visit with our friends from the Aeolus-Oledo Tennis Club in Rotterdam and to all those members who offered their homes to our visitors and helped with food and assistance to Mark.
Thank you all – It was GREAT and we couldn’t have done it without you!
Congratulations to everyone at Sawbridgeworth Tennis Club on achieving Tennismark accreditation through the LTA Registration process. Tennismark is a Sport England approved accreditation that recognises our venue as safe, welcoming and inclusive.
Members will be receiving membership shoe tags for the 2016-17 season, rather than membership cards. They will need to ensure that these are visible at all times. If they have more than one pair of tennis shoes, please remember to transfer the tag.
Juniors, Minis and Tots, have the square style to accommodate a variety of shoe fastenings.

Veterans Success - Congratulations to the Vets!
The Men's Over 45 Vets Team won their division in the Herts league last season. This is a great achievement and means that we will be promoted next season. Hopefully this will just be the start of our movement up the divisions. In the future we could enter more teams and perhaps even enter a team in the Over 55 league.

Mollie takes 1st steps in WTA event
Mollie Crouch 15, took her first steps on the Pro circuit last week. Mollie was playing in the $10,000 pro circuit event in Sutton. The event was being competed in by players ranked up to 200 WTA. The draw included former Wimbledon semi-finalist Alexandra Stevenson USA.
In her 1st qualiying match, she comfortably beat fellow teenager Laura Eales from Gloucestershire 6/2 6/3. In her final qualifying match she took on former world No 282, 24 year old Anna Smith. Mollie was put under pressure in the first set with her opponents skill and early ball strikes. Mollie learnt quickly and took control in many of the points. In a very even contest Mollie lost 6/3 6/4 but, learnt so much about this and the next level.
Mollie reached her first British Tour final last month at Edgbaston Priory. In her semi final Mollie beat World ranked 1106 Eden Silva in 3 sets. This was Mollie's 2nd win over a WTA ranked player this season, having previously beaten former U14 world champion Jessicca Ren 6/2 7/5 at Paddington.
